Executive Summary
This release introduces Exit & Relaunch, a new assisted-exit workflow that lets support staff end a candidate's session and return them to their exam without a manual reschedule, and pairs it with reason-specific messaging on the candidate suspension screen. LMS links can now open a specific exam through deep linking and custom parameters, SSO logout returns candidates to a client-configured destination. Several proctoring, registration, and API issues are also resolved. Items requiring CSM coordination are noted throughout.

New Features & Enhancements
π₯οΈ Test Delivery & Proctoring
Exit & Relaunch: Assisted Exit Without Rescheduling
Greeters, Techs, and CSAs can now end a candidate's exam session and make it immediately available to relaunch, removing the need for a manual reschedule when a technical issue interrupts testing.
-
An Exit & Relaunch action is available from the Greeter and CSA screens, and the staff member is prompted for a reason that is stored and shown in the session transcript
-
The session is ended and the lockdown browser is closed, the session is marked as an assisted exit with a relaunch expected, and the registration moves to a relaunch-eligible state
-
The candidate can relaunch the exam from My Assessments without administrator involvement
-
The relaunch window defaults to 30 minutes and is configurable per client
-
The candidate receives a confirmation email explaining that the exam is eligible for relaunch and how to restart it
-
If the candidate does not relaunch within the window, the session automatically transitions to an abandoned state and the transcript records the automated change
CSM-Enabled: Exit & Relaunch and the configurable relaunch window are controlled by configuration. Contact your CSM to discuss enablement and window length.
Reason-Specific Candidate Suspension Screens
Following the introduction of required suspension reasons last release, the candidate suspension screen now displays instructions matched to the reason selected by the Greeter or Tech.
-
Candidates see a header, explanation, and next steps that correspond to the reason recorded for their session, rather than a single generic suspension message
-
When a session has already been suspended by a Greeter or Tech, the candidate's Exit control now exits immediately instead of prompting for a self-exit reason, so a session no longer produces two conflicting suspension entries in the transcript
Updated Notice and Consent for Online Proctored Exams
The Terms of Service page in the online proctored launch flow has been updated with revised policy content, including a new Testing Environment Photo Review section with its own consent checkbox.
Note: This is a content update. Section layout and checkbox placement are unchanged.
π LMS Integration
Deep Linking and Custom Parameters
An LMS activity link can now open a specific Webassessor exam instead of a generic assessment list, so a course containing a midterm and a final sends candidates to the correct exam on every launch.
-
Instructors adding Webassessor to a course can select the intended exam from a Webassessor-hosted picker, and the LMS stores that selection with the link
-
Alternatively, an LMS administrator or instructor can enter a custom parameter in the tool's settings to route a link to a specific exam
-
Candidates land directly in the correct exam with no additional navigation
Groundwork for Gradebook Integration
Webassessor now captures the gradebook location supplied by the LMS at launch and can obtain the credentials required to communicate with the LMS on a candidate's behalf. There is no visible change in this release; automatic grade pass back is delivered in 2026.11.
Action Required: LTI configuration requires administrator setup per client region. Contact your CSM for guidance.
π Authentication & SSO
Configurable Post-Logout Destination
Signing out of Webassessor now returns SSO users to the destination the client has configured, rather than a generic Webassessor page.
-
After the Webassessor session and the identity provider session are both terminated, the browser is sent to the client's configured post-logout URL
-
Supported for both SAML and OIDC configurations, using the value already stored on the Client Region SSO configuration
Dedicated Not Authorized Page
Inactive users who attempt to sign in through SSO now reach a clear Not Authorized page explaining that the account is inactive, instead of being returned silently to the login screen. Branding and error context are preserved on the page.
Fixes & Resolved Issues
|
Severity |
Area |
What Was Fixed |
|
High |
Test Delivery |
The Proceed control was intermittently unresponsive after a candidate completed AI pre-check, requiring the candidate to close the browser and relaunch |
|
Medium |
Test Delivery |
Some candidates whose exams required pre-check were routed directly to a proctor, so the pre-check requirement was not visible in the transcript |
|
Medium |
Authentication & SSO |
Candidates could not resume an in-progress exam through an SSO deep link and were sent to an unrelated page |
|
Medium |
API |
A second registration could not be created through the registration APIs after a candidate failed a first attempt, returning a prerequisite or duplicate registration error |
|
Medium |
Administration |
Help links in the Admin module pointed to a legacy help domain and now open the current documentation site |
|
Low |
Candidate UI |
The chat and support icon was missing from the biometric enrollment pages |
